Description

Sliding sash window weights are used to counterbalance the weight of a sash in a box sliding sash window. With the correct weights fitted, the sashes can be positioned at any opening height without them slipping down or rising. Opening and closing will be simple and effortless. Original sash windows contained single panes of glass and the sashes were relatively light. Modern sashes are double or triple glazed and as a consequence, much heavier. As older windows are upgraded, the sash window weights require replacing. Heavier weights are needed to compensate for the increase in glazing weight. Back in 1985, Mighton Products recognised this and developed the Steel Sash weight. They are now a standard in the sash window manufacturing industry. Steel weights are denser than their traditional cast iron counterparts, so you can squeeze more weight into a sash window box. Allowing you to compensate for heavier sashes. A simple solution and easy to fit.

Steel weights are very competitively priced and cost significantly less than traditional lead sash weights. We stock them in a whole range of sizes for next day delivery.

Whilst steel sash weights will fit the majority of sash windows*, unlike lead, steel weights are unable to be cut down to size.
