PCB Designer - Full Time

We are looking for a talented PCB Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a HNC in electronics and at least 3 years’ experience in PCB design. Thorough working knowledge of your chosen software package (which we will provide) is essential.

PC CID and CID+ would be an advantage. As part of our development team you will be solely focused on the development of a number of exciting smart home products.

The role demands creative thinking, keeping up to date with technology and a passion for working in a product development environment.

 Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Software Designer and Hardware Designer to realise new projects and develop existing products
  • Design PCB layouts and create libraries
  • Draw Schematics showing component placement and routing.
  • Create component datasheets and drawings
  • Produce design packages with assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, Gerber and other design files for PCB manufacture & assembly.
  • Source and liaise with PCB fabricators
  • Resolve any manufacturing related issues with fabricators
  • Put in place design check rules for each project

Key Qualifications and Experiences

  • Must understand PCB fabrication assembly processes
  • Conversant with signal integrity, multi-layer design and controlled impedance stacks
  • Able to read schematics
  • Experienced in working with analogue and digital PCB design
  • PCB design knowledge of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Sub 1 Ghz and USB.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC requirement for PCB Design
  • Basic Knowledge of IOT communications and architecture essential
  • Experience working on products that run on ios and Android an advantage

Software Engineer - Full Time

We are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer to help build and develop apps that will help us engage with a growing smart home audience. As part of the team you will be solely focused on the development of a number of exciting smart home products

The role demands creative thinking, keeping up to date with technology and a passion for working in a product development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate embedded firmware on various micro controllers.
  • Create Software Design Specifications
  • Writing program code
  • Collaborating with team members and subcontractors to resolve product issues
  • Lead large/small scale projects with complex features
  • Handle multiple projects at various phases.
  • Test the product in controlled, real situations before going live
  • Prepare training manuals for users
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • This role is a full-time office-based post (Hinxton, Cambridgeshire)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience with BlueTooth Low Energy solutions especially the Nordic Semiconductors nRF52832 MCU
  • Knowledge of Sub 1GHZ wireless solution making use of the TI SimpliciTI / CC1100 product range
  • Understanding of iOS apps for working with the BlueTooth Low Energy solution
  • Experience with all phases of embedded firmware development in platform independent environments
  • Strong knowledge of various RF technologies and profiles such as Z-Wave, ZigBee, BT/BLE, Wi-Fi.
  • Thread and Apple HomeKit experience a necessity.
  • 5+ years of experience with C+ programming.
  • Software development methodologies and quality control processes.
  • Scripting languages and for test automation (Perl, Python or similar) big plus
  • Debug skills with tools such as JTAG/serial debugger, protocol analyser and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience in consumer electronics product development, especially Thermostats, sensors and smart bulbs an advantage.
  • Capable of working on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
  • Problem solving skills a necessity
