Made to order and non-refundable. Please allow up to 7 working days for delivery.
Supplied PRE-TENSIONED to the weight range marked on the balance (e.g. 15lb – 18.8lb). A sash within that range should balance with no tensioning.
Always weigh your sash and quote its weight when ordering.
Sold in PAIRS. One pair is sufficient for ONE sash.
Fine adjustment, only if the sash creeps down: turn the adjuster anticlockwise (viewed from underneath) with a key or flat-bladed screwdriver until it clicks. One click per balance, applied equally to both, to a maximum of 2 clicks.
Extra tension cannot be removed. Balances that have been tensioned cannot be returned.
If the sash still creeps after 2 clicks per side, the balances are wrong for the sash. Re-check the weight and order the correct balances.
For timber windows only
Stainless steel spiral rod with dual tension springs in a semi-flexible outer tube
Twin springs give assisted lift and smooth operation, even on heavier sashes. They suit retirement homes, hospitals and nursing homes.
Non-removable white tube supplied as standard. Clip-on tube covers are available in other colours.
Supplied with timber fittings
AL10–AL50 balances require an 18mm groove. AL60–AL90 balances require a 21.5mm groove.
Fitting instructions are available to download.
Keep balances free of plaster, building dust and debris. A few drops of light oil on the spiral rod will improve the action.
