Egress Only Friction Stays

The Egress Only Hinge offers a great solution to the problem of emergency egress. It opens straight to the egress position and allows safe exit in the event of an emergency. It has no awkward buttons or catches and is ideal for side hung windows where easy cleaning functionality is not a requirement. This hinge cannot be used as a safety restrictor. We recommend fitting them to ground floor windows only.

  • Safe and simple for fast escape
  • Can be fitted to all types of casement window including PVCu, Aluminium and Timber.
  • The hinge meets the corrosion requirements of BS EN 1670 Grade 4 (240 hours) and the performance requirements of BS 6375-1:2009
  • Has been cycle tested in excess of 25,000 cycles of opening and tested to BS EN 13126-1:2006.
  • Successfully tested as a critical component within PAS024 : 2016 (with Hingeguard sold separately)
  • Complies with Building Regulations Part B: 2013 for Fire Escape
  • Complies with BS 9991:2011 for Fire Escape
  • Safe and simple for fast escape
  • Sold in handed pairs
