Our traditional waxed cotton sash cord combines a natural cotton cover with a polypropylene core, giving you the authentic look and feel of a period cord with the added strength and reduced stretch of a modern core. The wax finish helps protect against moisture, reduces friction as the cord runs over the pulley wheel, and keeps operation smooth and quiet. Being cotton-covered, it also knots off securely to the sash weight and holds up well to sunlight over time — making it a genuinely authentic choice for period properties as well as contemporary sash windows.
