Is this just another pivot window?
No! Easy Tilt operates as a double hung window in normal operation and can pivot when required
Do the sashes have restrictors to check the amount of tilt?
No! They are not needed, the user never has to hold any of the sash weight. The sashes will actually rotate in any direction 360°
How does the use of the weatherstripping differ to other tilt windows?
The weatherstripping now moves with the sash so there is no noise, less friction and virtually no wear.
Can Easy Tilt hardware be used to bow topped sashes?
Yes, As the system utilises mortise bolts instead of guide latches fixed on the horizontal rails it can incorporate bow topped, arched or angled head rails.
What are the advantages over normal tilt windows?
Sashes do not rise up when tilted. The tension on the spring is always the same whether the balances are operating normally or pivoted. There are no guide latches, restrictor arms, pivot shoes or pivot bars. The sashes rotate completely so that the outside of the sash can be on the inside allowing thorough cleaning without having to stoop over the sash or clean from the side. The sashes can even be painted on all six surfaces from the inside.
How do you remove the sashes?
The patented Quick Release System allows the sashes to be detached from the frame easily and set aside. The full tension of the balances is retained so the sashes can be subsequently returned to the frame with ease. This is particularly useful when trying to get large objects into a room (such as furniture). There are no beads to remove or reinstate and no paintwork to repair.
How easy are the windows to manufacture?
Very easy. We have designed the system with the independent joiner in mind. Only basic machinery is required and the balances and sashes are simply fitted and adjusted. Even the weather stripping can be replaced, if ever necessary, just by titling the sashes to gain access and there is no need to remove the channels.
What about security?
Each sash locks into the vertical position with four mortised deadlocks.
